Breeze House is a beautiful and thoughtfully designed residence located on a small 305sqm piece of corner land in Essendon. The project aims to seamlessly connect internal and external spaces, creating a welcoming atmosphere for residents and visitors alike. Upon entry, a timber lined roof partially extends over a serene Japanese rock garden, marking the transition from public space to private sanctuary. Circular concrete blockwork is used to provide privacy while maintaining a visual connection to the street beyond. Inspired by postmodernism and Scandinavian design, the interiors and exteriors of Breeze House are carefully crafted to provide a comfortable family home with a focus on entertaining guests. As the project is situated on a corner block, we have resisted the temptation of completely walling & screening the side façade for privacy, and instead have provided a textured and playful architectural response to the side frontage that engages with the public realm instead of simply turning it’s back. Breeze House represents a striking and sophisticated addition to its surroundings, and a testament to the ingenuity and creativity of its design team.
